Hi Maria, thanks for stopping by.
I do indeed use Painter, version 5.
The sky in Morgan is a mixture of techniques, Basicly i mapped a painted texture onto a mesh in a 3d program(Lightwave) to make use of 3d lights and bump mapping to bring out the texture.
woohoo! an englishman!
your style is indeed very painterly. im wondering.. do you use photoshop, the brilliant painter (classic,5,6,7 etc)(i use painter 7 - i think it suits your style extremely well) or something else intirely?
i like youre technique because it is difficult to tell wether its digital or not. im especially impressed with your morgan le fay picture.. that sky!
well i'll go look at some more.
i can see why your girlfriend would be pleased with this picture, its flattering and has a gorgeous quality to it. I like the contrasting blue shadows on the wings.. makes the gold colours stand out beautifully.
Thankyou Kay.That means alot coming from a great painter like yourself.
You really have a wonderful painterly soft style. I agree with Socar. Just lovely.
Thanks Chris, i am glad that came across, i was going for a dreamlike quality.
Thank you Socar.
Thank you, my girfriend posed for me, she is very flattered by my painting although i think she is heavenly anyway.
This has such lovely gesture and poise. I feel as if I'm staring at her though a heavenly mist. Very beautiful work.
I agree with Socar,
The soft, warm, golden colors give this image an eerie supernatural feel that is appropriate for a supernatural being like an angel.
Also, I love how you rendered those hands, like a renaissance painter.
I love the soft colours and rendering you've given this. It's just how I imagine an angel--beautiful to look at, but hard to see all at once for mortal eyes.
