Artwork Description

Fae bright eyes of sea green, flickering in the light like ripples over water. A quicksilver bright smile, laughing, but it never quite reaches the depths of the eyes. Hair as black as raven wings, spread like a cloak down a slender back, dew drops glistening against the tendrils that wind like vines and the flash of silver and gold against too pale skin - tarnished now, crumbling and fading, even as the once bright colors of a silk shirt fades to dusky a remnants of itself.

A character portrait for a story I'm writing, sort of an urban fairytale... this is the river fae, a Kelpie. I drew this in Painter, then switched to Photoshop for the coloring (I really haven't gotten the knack of Painter yet).

This is well done - great light/dark work and the overall effect is quite stunning, keep it going!

He reminds me just a teensy bit of Leonardo di Caprio! I think he's awesome--your painting, not Leo! Keep up the good work.

I wonder hasn't he too thin fingers?

Beautiful colours - it looks very underwater-ish.

Lovely colors and textures. Has a very painterly look. I love the pose and action of this piece. Well done.
