Artwork Description

This the third painting in a series of Egyptian scenes. It took me one year to have it done.

I love how you are able to shift your style to suit your subject matter. Just an overall impressive piece of work !

Ok for starters not everyone wishes to have 'servants' as animal companions so those of us who choose to have cats (or those who the cats have chosen to live with!) experience relationships of mutual respect!

Secondly I appreciate the style you have used with thise work. It is almost remniscent of the ancient illustrations on papyrus due to the linear style you use. I really like your work!

That is kind of strange because cats don't really give a damn whether you live or die and dont ever expect them to look out for you or guard your house. Get a dog. They really deserve more affection.

Thank you, Maggie. You are right, the cat are treated liked gods inside Goddess Bast's temple.

*growls at the troll and giggles at your response* =) I really like this, most of all the cats (i love cats!Smile and the overall mood of the painting. Kind of like the humans are there for the cats' enjoyment, and not the other way around. I don't know anything about ancient Egyptian culture so maybe I'm wrong... Also great coloring, especially the shadows and highlights, don't know how you managed it really - when I try oil I always get this "blocky" and "lumpy" look (can't think of a better word:) OK - sorry for rambling, I'll stop now=)

Thank you! I really thought I was Leonardo da Vinci and you put me in my place. Where is your work? I want retribute your kind visit and comments on all my art works.

This is really rough. I noticed that most of your art is very blocky and crude and you don't seem to be able to handle a brush very well. Also, have you ever studied anatomy at all?

This is absolutely gorgeous, and well worth the time spent. And those cats are beyond wonderful! Great job, Vera.

Art at its best.
