Artwork Description

This one was my first fairy paintings. I hope to do more. When I'm in my gardens and hear the chimes from my kitchen window, I imagine I hear the laughter of fairies. I like to think that, somewhere just out of sight the fairies and unicorns are dancing among the flowers. I have a poem that goes with this painting.

This is a gorgeous picture. I love how the girl is scratching the unicorns chin.It reminds me of my sisters and our cat. I'm only 14 and uh compared to you....i really suck, lol. Hopefully I can be as good as you one day!

I can tell you they are real. I played with them when I was just a little children and now I sometimes get an eyecatch of them. You just have to believe with the deepest of your heart and so they will live on and perhaps one day you will see them too.

Thank you James. I am pleased to read such a comment from someone who has artwork with faeries that I admire greatly.

Beautiful piece, Marilyn. This is certainly one of my favorites. It is so playful & full of imagination. The faeries are so cute & the unicorn is wonderfully depicted.

I try to paint them as they come. But my wildlife takes precedence as they sell better and keep me in brushes, frames and paint!! Nothing fills me with greater joy though, than the freedom of exploring my love of fantasy! Thank you for your enthusiasm!

Dear Marilyn,

I thought DANCE OF THE UNICORN to be an authentic and rare glimpse into a magical realm existing just beyond the peripheral of our vision. The painting lifted my spirit and filled me with joy.

Please share more of your visions with us, Marilyn.

That's exactly what I heard ....the fairies laughing. Thank you for your comment.

This is my best painting to date for detail. I hope someday to surpass this, or at least equal it.

I like the idea of a swarm of pestering bees! I must use that somehow in another painting. Oh! why can't there be more hours in the day!

*stares* its like something i dreamed once..but in this! the fairies remind me of a swarm of pestering bees..so cool!!! i never really like fairies myself, oh well. I LOVE THE UNICORN! *steals it and runs off*

Oh, he's enjoying it all right! Most unicorns love to dance. But he has to watch out for that boy fairy...he's mischievious!

I did check it out. Loved it! I do have prints of it and it is selling well. I think it is the best I've done to date with detail and everything.

Maybe it's just me, but that unicorn, does not look as though he is enjoying the dance as much as the fairies, I'm not sure he likes having his beard pulled! Smile Reminds me of my dragonette and unicorn picture.. Which happily did make into the epilogue gallery. I'm so glad I found you here

this is what I'd call 'romantic fantasy' (as opposed to art of ppl like Simon Bisley Wink and I must say I like this one. the flowers are beautiful, the unicorn and the fairies are lovely as well. this would sell good as a print I imagine.
p.s. check out the "dragon fairy" in my gallery if you'd like

I love her fairies! And thanks. I'm pleased you like it. It's my first attempt with fairies and I like how it turned out.

Wonderful painting Marilyn, probably my favourite of your excellent gallery. The style reminds me of the flower-fairy paintings of Cicely Mary Barker, lovely.

Art at its best.
