Artwork Description

I don't do enough dragons. I like to think of them as guardians and despite their fierce look, gentle creatures at heart. This one has ( literally) taken a unicorn foal under his wing.

I guess I like to see the possible good in everything. I do like to think of dragons as guardians and companions and enjoy painting them as such.

I love dragons too. I also like unicorns; however, I cannot draw them. Your style is great and i love your take on dragons: as gardians. It is nice to know that i am not the only one to think of dragons as good natured beings.

Thanks Maggie. This one and "Dance..." are my personal favourites. This one because, when I was a child, I so desperately needed and wanted a guardian who would protect me against the world. And "Dance..." because of the simple joy of dreams this painting brings to mind. There is a poem that goes with it.

This came *really* close to bringing tears to my eyes. I *love* all of your work, but the tender mood of this one makes it my no 1 favorite. I understand that you kept it, but if you ever chance your mind let me know Wink Thanks for sharing!

I love the fact that you think of dragons as gaurdians. Everyone gives them a bad name always capturing damsels and eating them.

Did I say that I really love your work? Oh yes I already did but I have to once again. You just leave me crying in my heart and smiling all around because it is so beatiful and dreamy and I really want to meet them one time again. You remember me of what I lost and only seeing in my dreams now.

Thanks Serrita. I would like to do more of these "guardian dragon" ones. I need more hours in the day. Anyone got any to spare?

its so cute......i think u should draw more of those. They're amazing..i really love the loveing and caring side of the dragon..keep up the great work!

You think the way I do. Actually, there are so many things depicted as evil or that are our adversaries that I tend to want to portray what I can as good or at least neutral.

dragons are only perceived as evil in mideival fairy tales and myths. in asian countries, china especially, the dragon is good luck, life, immortality, eternity, health, protection, the rain bringer, power, strength, heart, wisdom, age, maturity, healing, etc.

You know how they say "a picture is worth a thousand words"? Well, when I paint some of these a thousand words run through my mind and a story begins.

There's something in this painting that keeps speaking to me too. I offered it for sale ( with a stiff price ) once, then decided to keep it. I guess you'd say it's in the private collection of the artist! Strangely enough I don't often keep any of my work. Drive's my husband crazy!

Though it's hard to decide, I think this one is my favorite of the images I've seen for your art. Thank you for sharing it with us.
