Artwork Description

An alien from the book The Worth of a Shell. It is one of the neuters at an important gathering, rising from its chair as it senses the approach of someone important . . . someone frightening, powerful, entrancing.

Your sketch is marvelous! It really conveys the title and the contrast in colors is great! I like it a whole lot Smile.

The fabric is supposed to be heavy . . . like silk velvet, but stiffer. It's hard to translate alien fabrics. But I admit the reason it's symetrical on the bottom is because I like symmetry!

This one has a write-up with the scans of it in several states of completion here. Thanks for your comments!

It wasnt until i read the story under this piece that i noticed she sat on a chair. Mmm, i guess i was distracted by its beauty... I love how yu drew her ears, the're awesome. And even tho she's an animal person and everything, she still has that charm and rare beauty . One "constructive" critisizm though from my point of view is, that everything is wonderfully realistic, Only at the bottom of this piece the red part of her dress appears unnatural, or is the fabric a real heavy one so that it is equal on both sides? I love the dark red and all the other warm colors and i especially admire the beautifull dress design.

Art at its best.
