Your dancings entrancing, my feet must start gliding, Down to the water where the swans are a-riding.
oh and Anna D having her look a little boneless makes her look more graceful and swanlike
hi linda isn't she awesome?!
OMG!! SWANS!!!!! This reminds me of when I got attacked by swans on holiday. Very funny until they tried to eat my baby brother!
Damn! When i was randomly searching net, i saw the title of your artwork. thought it was fanart for Led Zeppelin but was mistaken, but wasn't a total loss, because it good art. (pointless msg but thought u might be interested)
P.S you should do a fanfic of the swan song. (its a naked angel man)
About the whole critisim comment, I would tell you if I didn't like a pic or not, but there isn't any pics not to like! (except the 'Snails' pic. It disturbs me. I think it's obvious why. ^^)
She was in a dream? Wow, you're lucky. Even if I HAD dreams as extravagent as those, I'd never be able to do anything like THIS. *falls off chair*
Wow! Very good! I like the colours!
ja ne , me chan
Wow, I wish I had dreams as interesting or visually intriguing as this picture. I love the details on the rocks and the swans in the clouds. I also really like the poem that goes along with this picture. You have amazing talent, and a very active imagination. Great job! )
do you know who bjork is? you know the insane singer? c'mon! You know the girl who came on a red carpet in a swan dress. the one that dressed as a swan?
About the arms; she stated it was inspired by a dream she had. Now, in dreams, people aren't necessarily porportionate. Perhaps she wasn't GOING for that? Just like the "direct source of light", there is none. Some girls don't have muscle on their arms, and I can name many, it's simply the curves of them that make them seem. . . Eeeh, like a cloth doll, perhaps. I find that intriguing, and see nothing wrong with it. In dreams, people are more curvy and elegant, and porportion isn't an issue to your subconscious. If your mind wants to see fingers that are exceedingly long with no visable joint, but simply curved in an eerie fashion; you'll see it. I love this picture, it brings a very inspiring air with it. Congrats on the editors pick!
quite freaky but the swans are cool...nice wing effects!
wow............. i think i'll just obsess over this for a while.
good idea and nicely done
i rly like this... it's very unique and i'm glad it got chosen for ep ^^ i love the way you did the wings and garb.
that handoperation must be painfull.
...(might be handy for eating nuudles though)...
I was browsing the EPs, read Anna D.'s comment, and was a bit taken aback by it. There's a difference between constructive criticism (pointing out the spots where the picture could be improved) and being outright rude. I don't think the way Anna D. presented her opinion was considerate at all, and then to complain about the way her "opinion" was received and even unloading her misaligned take on the critiquing system... really, ludicrous. There are many art forums that welcome & embrace PROPER critique.
For my part, I don't see anything so wrong with the anatomy that it shouldn't be an EP, although the left arm could use a little muscle definition. Aside from that, the wings are gorgeous and the entire atmosphere is so wistfully whimsical. Mmm, if only all dreams were like this ;]
You know... this anatomy, specifically the muscle definition, isn't necessarily incorrect. My arms look very similar to that, and I'd hope that reality is "anatomically correct".
I like this picture a lot! I don't mind that it isn't photo-realistic; I've seen pictures that are perfectly accurate, but don't have much... emotion. You know? This picture seems to flow. It has that vague, uncertain, dreamlike quality- I think it's beautiful. ^_^ *applauds*
Everyone's entitled to his or her own opinions and I don't mind if some people don't like what I've done - it helps me improve. I know the anatomy's not perfect and I can work on that. But regarding Ep's, I never thought I'd see the day I got one...and fair enough if you don't think it should have. If I can't take criticism how will I get better?
I was just clicking the Random Pic button-and look what I came across ! After reding the replies to mmy previous comment...
OK,I apologize for my 1st comment.Apparently, the "saynotocriticism-virus" is just as active in Epilogue as it is on other art related forums on the Web,which means that stating your opinion MUST equal jealousy,or worse.I could've said much, much harsher things about this picture, and about the whole Editor system in general, but it would be utterly useless, seeing how criticism is completely rejected and any comment other than the usual "WOW" is instantly booed at,and any commentator who has something a bit more meaningful to say than "It's awesome!" is ignored or insulted in return.I just don't understand-why is it forbidden to voice your opinion ? Why do some visitors feel the urge to re-boost the artist's ego, lest it be affected by that tiny bit of criticism (although I doubt that she gives a damn about what's written here anyway)? Patrick states that this is a dream; maybe all the angry rejected artists should paint their dreams and get several EP's, in spite of obvious anatomical flaws in their work, and if anyone asks how that's possible, the Editors will say "why should it be anatomically correct if it's a...DREAM ?"
this is beautill ,but I had already told you that.
I am amazed by your talent everytime I admire your artwork.
beautiful work Annah...
This is a picture of a dream... and it made me feel as though I was a part of that dream. Executed with beauty and sensitivity - I don't give a lot of "editor's picks", but this unique picture made me love it.
Very beautiful picture. I think you've captured movement and life like few people can - there is a flow to the image that I very much enjoy. What I like the most, though, is the originality of it all - what a unique and wonderful idea!
grr dont pay attention to that Anna Draconida person-i bet she's just jelous! i think this is fantasitic! very good indeed
Hey Annah, I was just browsing and came across this image. Very unique! ) I was reading over some other comments and my oh my, Anna D looks pretty jealous with her rude comments..however, she has no work here....hmmmmmm. Keep up the awesome style. I look forward to seeing more.
Nice picture...Although I'm not a 100% percent sure that it was worthy of an Editor's Pick. Why ? The girl's arms are completely "off",no definition of muscles whatsoever...Wait,does she have any muscles there at all ? It doesn't look right.I thought that the anatomy had to be correct for a picture to be approved at Epilogue...Turns out I was wrong.
o yes thats fantastic.MY fvourite part would be the rock detail under her left side arm!.I love your wierd composition.congratulations on on getting editors pick.!!!!!!
This is lovely work. I really like all the different references to the swan, and the blue around her eye adds a particularly interesting element.
Angry? Not at all I see what you mean though, although there is no direct source of light, it's inspired from a dream I had...and seeing as my dreams are all misty, the light sort of reflected that The girl is the only 'Real' object in the picture you might say. The rest raises the question: 'Is this real, or an illusion?' I would go for the latter
Thanks, but no it isn't based on that. Just a dream
The colors and idea are great, but I have problems with your technique and skills (the photorealistic figure is in sharp contrast with the wings and background rocks where probably you had no reference to hit the shadows - I don't find the source of light, I think you didn't build the pic, rather you made shadows randomly - except for the girl figure, the whole pic is sum of haphazard parts for me; and her bird-hand seems to me only a trick.). Composition would be ok, if you'd finish the pic. I like her eye tattoo, the blue color is great choice, and I like the carving of rocks. The colors are great as I mentioned, I like especially the mono background and colorful theme contrast. That's it. I hope you will not be angry for my outspoken comment. It is only an opinion (my op.))
