I have finally updated him!! YAY! This artist Vampire is based off Anne Rice's Marius.
such an absolutely beautiful picture, exactly how i picture him when i read Blood and Gold
This image of Marius De Romanus by Rachelle Rene' was unbelievable...exactly how I imagined him (just as handsome)I give my absolute thanks to her for bringing him alive to me...
I have read a few Anne Rice books, and I think that this is the greatest picture of Marius ever. He looks like he just had one of his fits with Armand and goes to paint his sarrow and anger away. His eyes are perfect, for they look strong yet needy. Well done.
YOur portriat, whether he be of Marius or someone else, is wonderful. He is a bit too pretty-boy for how I imagine Marius, however, don't take that the wrong way... I do not think anyone can completely capture what I think he looks like, without delving into my thoughts directly.
I like the hair, and hte eyes draw me into them... they are the perfect color (also the color of my husband's eyes, I kid you not). His skin tone is wonderful as well, and I agree with past comments about the fingernails, and the lack of fangs. It makes you LOOK at the picture for hte tell-tale sings of vampirism, instead of relying on "oh, look. Fangs. Vampire. NEXT!"
But, by far my favorite feature is the eyes...
After Reading "The Vampire Lestat", I found myself pouring through " Blood and Gold". You are a genius with your hands. I
I am a lover of Marius. This is simply stunning Rochelle. The only thing that I would change would be his eyes. Marius has Cobalt Blue eyes, so they need to be darker. Besides that, he is Marius personified. You have a great talent. I was wondering though, if you would consider a portrait of Jesse. No one ever draws or paints her, and she is a beautiful character also.
Marius looks just liek that in my mind.. stunning. The pandora picture would be such a treat to see, pelase do one. i think your art is far the best I've ever seen.
he's amazingly beautiful. and by far my favorite character, the hair is perfect and the face and body.. wonderful.
excpet i imagined his eyes darker. and his mouth somewhat different, smaller maybe.
its still so magnificent though.
wow, esp. the hair looks wonderful, and that look, fascinating. I would've pictured him the same, very good job!
Nor did I.
But I do LOVE Vincent Perez...in other roles.
Thank you, doll.
This picture of Marius comes very close to the image I had of him after reading the book! (I didn't like the movie version of him)
He truly is a gorgeous creature you've created, and the distant look in his eyes, reflects Marius perfectly. You do Anne Rices wonderful character a great justice.
Wow... I really love Marius, and he looks really great in this picture. although he is not quite how I imagined him.How about making a drawing about Pandora? or both of them together? you see, she is my fav character in the books, and so is Marius. think about it. keep up the good work!
very good! n
Very nice! n
Is it just me, or am I the only one who has imagened Marius with a redish-blonde colour hair? I don't know... probably me, but other than his hair (Which is my probablem with my mind so..)) It depicts him in every way possible.
Ive just finished reading Queen of the Damned and your art has brought the characters to life for me. Marius has always been my favorite as well as Louis. So in short I love your art
This is...well, quite frankly, it's absolutely amazing! He looks exactly how I pictured him. You have true talent. I'm reading B&G right now...and Marius has always been my favourite Anne Rice character. Thank you for bringing him so perfectly to life.
Sylvia, Thank you so much for your comments! It's wonderful to hear from one such as you that knows so much about the figure. Marius is the reason I began to paint again. His story touched me so profoundly and I had to render what I felt he looked like! I just had to. Since then I have been painting more and more... and I understand what he felt, painting and repainting...never feeling good enough.
Thank you again, darling and i apoligize for the late response.
I hope you get as much joy out of the Vampire Chronicles as I have, Thank you for your compliment...each one means so much to me. You do not know.
This is really great! I'm reading Anne Rice at the moment, and am just speachless! Great work!
This is such a wonderful picture of Marius. He is absolutely gorgeous. I love the way you did his skin tone and hair. I like the way you delt with the problem of the "glassy" fingernails. The paint brush is also a nice touch and suits Marius' personality quite well.
I disagree with the statement that his face is too smooth/feminine. I do believe that if you read the books they say that the faces of the vampires become smooth over time, and seeing as Marius is a Child of the Millenia He's allowed, required even to be that smooth.
As to feminine... ::mutter to self "if you don't have anything nice to say...":: As to him being too feminine you might want to look at him closer.
If I wanted to make a negative comment the only one I could see is that his eye Might be a little more blue and a little less silver, and even that is pushing it a little. It's a gorgeous depiction of him.
Well, I've talked far more than I intended to. Ja ne.
MVL(Much Vampire Love),
Sylvia Wallace (Marius de Romanus)
I really like your vampire paintings, and I commend you for not necessairly using fangs to imply vampirism... very elegant of you. You have a very good control over digital painting.
thank you sweetie.
MArius is my faovrite as well... He is the only reason I began painting Vampires as well. -smiles- I'm so glad you like it:)
I've always been a huge Marius fan. Him being my favortite Anne Rice character. This picture is almost exactly how I pictured him in the book. It is so well done I now feel as if I know him personally. Just from reading all about him in books, and now having a real image to go with it.
He looks very, very sad.
What I like, is the way you depict vampires. Lips and eyes not in black, as a lot of people do, but pale and reddened, as I would. This is personal preference only, probably, but this combined with the skill you did the picture with makes me love it. Great hair! If I may add some critics as well, his face is to smooth, to femalish, in my opinion.
Thank you Mark! It is so nice to get a comment from one with such beautiful talant as yourself...
Great portrait Shell, I love the 'far away' look in his eyes.
