Illustration of Odin
Pen and ink
He had a sword, but he was not a violent king, he gave his eye and hang in a tree with a spear through his stomach for the gift of knowledge. the drawing is missing the spear and also the fact he only had one eye. but good art word.
Odin was the god of war, wisdom, and poetry. Thats why he had one eye..he gave his left eye to drink out of mimirs spring to gain wisdom.
Odin The chief divinity of the Norse pantheon the true god of war and death also known as the god od wisdom and poetry. Odin was the father of Tyr and fathered Thor on the goddess Jord; and the giantess Grid became the mother of Vidar.
Those runes really rock I love to be able to read them^^
i like odin, he is a reel nice god, and just look at his no bodied friend, mimer. tyr is war-god, odin is, also, death-god, usually warriors called for odin in combat, also thor was important in war.
but the whole war aspekt, was just one side of the old faith, over exagurated in its last time, viking age.
the inking here is reall good. nice attention to details and such
The picture is indeed very good, but, just for the information of the last visitor, Tyr was the god of war and Tyr was the one with the sword. Odin was the god of wisdom and yngve was absolutely right when he drew him with a spear. Sorry for my tone, but I take these matters seriously.
hey now, you must understand, i love the work but vikings were no spear chuckers. odin had a sword. and thus "sword of odin" i like the work though, its very nice to see an editors choice be a black and white. good achievement.
try doing some research on your next subject though
Great overall design and composition. I like the variety of weapons, the throne, and the texturing of the stones.
I love the runic signature
Do you have any of Valkries? Love this style. Your whole gallery rocks, and this is my true favorite!!! Bellatrixxx
