this is unreal, and what is better is that its in oil and not digital at all
Bravo!!! After seeing your gallery, Steve Ferris's Gallery, Igino's Gallery and Targette's gallery I know that Epilogue is here to stay for the long haul!!!
If you think the robot is big, you should see the thing it's shooting at!
there is a bit of a retro theme here... what caught my attention, though, is that robot in the background..... that is one moving, thundering mountain of metal.... and those missiles it's firing, they have to be ICBM-sized arrows of flaming death.... biiiiig robots..... *wanders off drooling*
The vintage/retro look I get comes from using oil paints in a fairly traditional old fashioned way. And wow, you seem to have seen right through me as far as influences go, although Frank Frazetta is the other obvious influence behind this one.
Am I wrong, or do i detect a very small, but delicious hint of a vintage look to your otherwise very slick, modern looking stuff? Love the creatures and the tortured arms that lead to writhing talon-like hands. The clouds, wow. Is there... an art deco influence? Maybe some comic book influence, as well. It looks amazing when paired with your painting ability. Brav-o
He just turns up after the real fighting is over and claims all the glory
