Artwork Description

This was a collaboration with fellow Epilogue artist, Leo Winstead. We swapped sketches and this is the image I got from him. It was great to work with Leo and we plan to do more in the future. (pencils by Leo can be found at www.stevethomas247.com in the fantasy gallery linked with this image)

beautifull, all your shading is done so well all the lighting is so subtle. I think this makes your paintings look less.......pop in your face you know....*has no art training just practice* lol Anny way the clolrs and lighting aren't dramatic enough for me but yours coplement eachother in a verry melding sort of was that makes your paintings nice to look at ...almost old fashioned... like the blade doesn't look sharp it's more foggy which wouldn't be dramatic enough for me.......oh well you get what i'm saying lol. It's a great peice I love the fact that it could almost be a man or a woman. It seems more fair that way lol

I still can't get over how well this turned out! The colors just jump off the screen. We definetly have to swap sketches again, my friend.

The spider itself really reminds me what I comes to my mind when I picture Shelob from lotr. Excellent job.

Wow. Thanks Stan. Comparing us to Frazetta is a flattering compliment indeed. I'm glad you liked it.

I agree. Leo has some great images. If you want to see the original sketch it is available beside this image in my fantasy gallery at www.stevethomas247.com.

Thanks James. Leo gets the credit for the composition. I just had fun filling in the blanks.

Steve/Leo, great work. It has that Frazetta feel, which is always so difficult to capture. The composition is wonderful!
