Artwork Description

As the vampire struck down her assaulter, and fed, the woman wonders... CAN IT BE? Her love, whom she thought was long dead? After an attack from a vampire, he has no choice but to live as they do. Only by choosing what is right, and hunting the wicked, can he live on with being what he now is. He also knows, that he may not ever embrace her as he once did, for the temptation to bring her into his new world would be too great. And so, he has become her dark protector, existing only in shadow, loving her ever more, from afar... One day... one day... he may reveal all to her.

MMMMMMMMMM I love the way he stares at you.... if you ever get tired of him can I have him? *grins* the woman in the background is funny though.. looking scared... and yet amazed that she's still alive... god I wish I could draw like this... *kidnaps the vampire guy and locks him in her closet...*

well, they cut off the rest of the comment, oh well... my end question was: do you write fiction as well?

Guest's picture

of course, a compliment, as all of the other posts seem to be. But i shall add my own redundancies to the rest. ^_^ I can understand the work that you put into the eyes, for the eyes are always my favorite part of any piece. And while sitting at the computer (or with a sketchpad, in my case) can get irritating, I'll bet you alre

So classical the theme for this is. The reborn lover ever keen to be her protecter yet fears for her life more so as the closeness is more then he can bare as he now is. This peice speaks out to me as you can somehow see the dispare he has now longer being able to stay wtih the one he loves yet can not leave her to the mugging of a common street thug forever in mourning as he stays the youthful and watches her age with time. Though his love never dies. I really like how you caught the look of fear yet utter surpise in the womans face as well as the innocence of his face brought to the dark deeds of what he is now. Very nicely done.

Thanx! Yeah I'm really into eyes sometimes,
Yeah, I wish I could've shown more of the background, but with the way I set this up, it's a little hard especially because of the angle. Basically it's supposed to be one level above ground, I pictured a town with many levels & heights throughout. Thanx for the comment!

thedarkcloak's picture

ThanX! Maybe I'll draw you as one next time. hmmm? Smile cya

Nice of you to leave a comment. Yeah the angle is one of the reasons why it was both fun, and a pain to do, but I hope it payed off. ^_^

thedarkcloak's picture

glad I got the intenseness across in his eyes. This one was both fun & a pain to do.
And I certainly am trying to "keep it up".
Hopefully it shows! Thanx again. =)

Great portrait Salvador, particularly since it is drawn at a very difficult angle. Excellent work.

I really like the way you've done his face and eyes, especially--they look very refined, yet intense. Nice work--keep it up!

Art at its best.
