Artwork Description

This is a companion piece to the previous "For Winterfell!". Of course it uses a similar textured rendering method, and also I did the opposite color scheme - that one was cool blue-greens with warm highlights, this one hot red with cyan highlights.

Thanks, Frank! Sometimes I even imagine I'm an artist!

Well, I need to learn how to control the effect, but I'm glad you like it. I already find (in a number of pictures I've done in the last two weeks) that I'm working it in very naturally. Thanks!

Patrick, i am sure not all will love this "new" look from you - but i for me love it enourmously - think this loose and textured look is a thing i never will reach - this is really great stuff you show here! - keep up this style, i really think it works for you...

Thanks, Kay! You are wonderful to say so. Smile I'm working hard on getting that free, textured look so I'm glad you're likin' it.

Oh Patrick I love this. Your the master. Smile I try so hard to get this look. Shade to sharpness and fail miserable. And the colors...floor me babe.
The hair! OMG! This is a keeper.

Thank ye, sir. Those were certainly the points I was trying to hit on this one! Smile

I like the extreme flit from shade to sharpness at key points, i.e his face and sword arm! cinematic and powerfully dramatic, Patrick! and battle bloody red too, Aye!

Thank you Christine! I was pretty happy with the contrast between the very-realistic face/hair and the sketchy look of the rest of it. Still playing with this effect to see where it leads.

Oh well, I can't win 'em all! I think I like where the textured look is going so I pushed it a bit farther on this one... but I'll keep trying. Thanks for commenting!

Wow his hair is amazing! I love the expression of rage and the photorealistic style of this one Smile

I don't like this nearly as much as For Winterfell!, which is excellent. It seems a little too "messy," and his eyes look demonic.

Don't get me wrong, I like most of your stuff - this is just an exception.

Thanks, Simon! Really trying for a looser feel lately, so I'm glad it's paying off.

I like his expression, and the Boris-type sketchiness of his right arm. Good job.

Art at its best.
