Artwork Description

This is a very significant painting for me. I have just finished it this week. I started it about five months ago, but just could not handle the emotional part of what I was trying to say in this piece. As a fantasy painter, I am usually high on the magic and adventure of other worlds. The events of 9-11 brought me back to earth like a lead brick. I guess you could call it therapy, but I had to have an outlet for this horror, we have all seen and lived through for the last six months. So being an artist, you guest it, I did this picture , to show my pride in America, and to add my small contribution to the brave men and women who died, and the one's they left behind. I hope you take a look at this image, and remember, and never forget. Even though I realize we would all like to have this tragedy over, but I do not think it will ever be over for us.

I couldnt make out the picutre when I was just surffing around, then I clicked on it just out of Curiosity and I have to say it has been the best one I have seen so far. Also I want to say thank you for supporting the firefighters like that.. I myself am a firefighter and it touches my heart to see that people are willing do these little things that mean a great deal to us. All the firefighters around the world if they could see that would say the same thing. God be with you.

Aside from the subject matter, this is simply a beautiful work. The details such as the flaming sparks and the florescent stripes on the firefighters' uniforms are done, and their faces are full of perfectly rendered grim concern. This is truly a fitting memorial of 9/11. Thank you so much for sharing this!

The emotion shown through this piece is beyond words. I believe the 9-11 tragedy affected everyone in some sense. I didn't loose anyone close to me yet I had a friend who lost her parents. I lost my chance to ever see the towers standing tall in person...many things were lost. Yet it helped the country bond together. I think we took our freedom and power for granted, I think after that event we find it now as a privilege and not as a right. But that’s just my opinion. Once again your work is amazing, but you knew that...right?

I love this one. The colors and the posing and the character work.... the theme is one that comes out and grips you, but it grips you even stronger since 9-11... The girl also looks something like me, which makes it a tad on the creepy side (personally, that is). ^^: Wonderful work. I had to comment.

Very strong image, and, for me anyway, the message comes across loud and clear. Excellent work.

At first I thought those guys were skining an alien blob but then I saw it`s a woman, and then I read the description and realized, uhm slightly different genre. I agree with you, real heros don`t rund around with big a$$ swords and slay monsters (which isn`t heroism anyway, after all those musclemen don`t need to overcome their inhibitions) Real heros might just carry around a bucket of water, or a good old fire axe. Nice contibution Steve, and not to mention it`s very well painted!

Art at its best.
