Done with Sketch & Wash pencil, on charcoal paper.
You'd be foolish to re-vert it back to its original state! This looks great, and wonderful choice for keeping it inverted. "GhostTtree" it is! I have a thing for trees, an the twists and sketchiness of the piece is really effective. Lovely work.
Indeed! I actually inverted it initially in order to touch up a grease spot that had gotten on the original. I'd intended to re-vert it when I was done, but once I'd done it, I was too stunned by the effect. I swapped the greyscale for RGB, and suddenly, it looked as if the actual wash was light on dark. Talk about a simple digital effect- I almost feel guilty for it!
Very nice job! Is this "Inverted"? Was this done with black charcoal on white paper then inverted in photoshop? Good effect!
Very well done. The title certainly captures the feel of the picture. It looks almost magic and has a otherworldlyness to it. I find it a comferting one, but then again I'm odd. Excelent detail and I like the choice of black base with white for the lines.
