Hahahaha! That's funny. Poor halflings, no matter what movie or book they always seem to have it the roughest. I love the Ent because I always get tired of people depicting the beauty and kindess of Nature 'cause the ol' girl has a very nasty side to her too. Just ask trailer parks.

Thanks, Meredith. I love painting trees and foliage in general. The depiction of treants in the old AD&D monstrous compendium really inspired me here.

Hey! This is exactly what I pictured Ents looking like. Thanks:)

Awww, talk about an adventure! I have a thing for trees, and this tree is great! Smile

Thanks, Jim!

Thanks, Rafal. This pic was sketched out directly on canvas and then I just painted over it. Drawing on canvas has a real nice quality, but it's a pain if you need to erase!

Thanks, Stan. I've tried to not emulate a specific artist too much, but I think Patrick is right about the Hildebrandt Brothers.

Glad you like it, Patrick. This was a commission from a good friend who is a big fan of J.R.R. Tolkien and the "Lord of the Rings" books.

The style is indeed great, but the expression and dynamic feel is even better. Priceless work Wink

Leo, I agree with Patrick. I like painters who use imagination in their work, it gives a style. You have one!

I love it!! This has a real Hildebrandt feel to it.

Art at its best.
