Artwork Description

Humpty Dumpty proposes a trade with a swallow, a piece of his dinner roll for his lost button. This is 1 of 7 paintings I did while on a trip to Germany. This painting measures roughly 3x4 inches.

This reminds me of my childhood. In fact all of your works remind me of a time in my life when there were no worries. Your work is incredible. My first exposure to it was in New Hope, Pennsylvania. 5 years later, you are still impressing me! That is ART!!!!

Hey Mary! It's always great hearing from you. Yes, I should get a little something up on my site about my trip. Last year when I was in Germany I painted a 10 ft. mural.

Hehe! You're too much Patrick. All I had were little scrap pieces of watercolor paper so I had to make it work. I really enjoyed this one the most. Thanks buddy!

Yes, It was a wonderful, relaxing trip. I'm there twice a year and always come home with some paintings. I love your Humpty painting too James!

Yes, Humpty has always been my favorite Mother Goose character. I always felt sorry for him because he is so fragile. Thank you once again Socar for your kind words.

Gaaahhh! How do you get so much detail in such a small space?!?! This is beautiful...wonderful expression on Humpty's face. So, can we on your mailing list expect an account of your trip soon? Smile

How do you keep the watercolors from bleeding all over the place? Awesome mini-painting by the way.

This looks like a classic James , reminds me of the old Grimms fairy tales illustrations I saw as a kid , great watercolors and style....

Blimey, this one positively glows! I'm completely in love with the Humpty Dumpty character, there--the expression on his face is so plaintive as he bargains with the evil swallow. It's amazing how you cram so much energy and colour into such a tiny painting.

Art at its best.
