Artwork Description

I am sent from this garden countless of times through the ages to spread desire and love among mortals, yet I am left empty of my own fulfillment in matters of the heart. I would gladly choose a mortal life if only to know the joy of giving love to another. I fear I shall become as cold and unyielding as the statue in my garden if I continue as only an observer in the wonder that is true love. How can it be that I, a bestower of love, have not found the soul-mate of my desire? ~SB

aww, no Psyche to keep him company? Or is he too young for that still? A gorgeous work nonetheless

Your paintings are wonderful James and I love this one, everything is placed perfictly. He really does look empty. I've just started painting with watercolours and just wondered what colours you mix for these beautiful skintones? Thanks and Take Care. Sharon.

You've caught the expression well, James. You can see he is feeling empty. Wonderful detail and great depth to the painting.

I hope I can become half the artist that you are one day James. Beautiful art.

James, beautiful watercolor, especially the subtle skin tones. I admire your ability to put in enormous detail without flattening out the painting.

Art at its best.
