Artwork Description

This is my first and last digital rendering. I saw everyone working on wacom boards and getting these amazingly realistic results so i thought i would give it a try. Anyway, i ended up doing it mostly with a mouse cos the wacom boards are just not for me. It was modeled somewhat after a pic of cameron diez, but i didnt my drawing to really look like her, or anyone else in particular.

Nifty-roo (I'm running out of words that mean 'awesome'). I love the little sparkles or jeweles (I butchered that word) or whatever they are above her eyebrows. Her hair is incredibly realistic-looking. A lot of the time in would-be realistic digital art, it's the hair that makes it look fake. Yours is awesome. And I love the flower sillouhetes (butchered that word, too)and the glowy background. This could very easily be used in the design for a web site (oh, the possibilities . . .)

Ooops! Forgot to mention, I still use mouses for accuracy dependent stuff, like paths and selections.

Tim, do not despair at using a tablet. I too thought as you do and could knock the spots off with a mouse. But I got hold of a WACOM Graphire2 A6 tablet (The smallest they do) and perservered and now I miss it when I'm using a mouse at work. Stick with it fella. It WILL be worth it. Promise.

So you do most of your work with a mouse? That's impressive, it takes me forever to do stuff with a mouse.

After reading that you modeled her after Cameron Diaz, I can see the resemblance. The only critique I can give on this is that her mouth looks like it is turned at a different angle than the rest of the face. Also the shoulders may be too small for her head, but it is hard to tell since there is so little of her body. Still a lovely piece.

Man, that thing you do with lightning is outstanding. This gives a very nice warm intimate feeling with the pic. And very charismatic look. Love the necklace and the sprinkles on her cheek and, and..I could pretty much sum up the whole pic, but I won't bore you with that. Just an magnificant job! Smile
