Moody Irish Landscape.
Selected in Spectrum 8
I wasn't goin to comment at all because i just love all your work but when i saw that heading i knew i had to.
Thanks for thinking enough of the irish landscape to paint a picture of it.
Your work is just fantastic.
Maith thú (well done).
Nár laga Dia do lámh(may God not weaken your hand). Though Irish Phrases are rarely taken literally isn't it just perfect here
I love this picture so much. I went to Ireland for my honeymoon 5 years ago and fell in love with the country. I visited the Cliffs of Moher and stood approximately where the woman is standing in your picture. When I finally make it back there, the Cliffs will be the first place I return to. Will there ever be a print available of this piece?
it reminds me of the cliffs of moher (I really do hope that's the right name....) it's beautiful!! just like the rest of your gallery, I'm truly impressed!! and I can tell you, that's a hard thing to do!! =P
In terms of depth, I think this is one of your most impressive pieces. Was this one particularly time consuming? Anyway, the detail in the waves is what amazes me most, how did you make them look so realistic, so soft, so natural? Were the waves the most difficult part of this picture? I wish I could attain your level of skill, but I don't know if I physically have the health to do it. I think you have to be in very good health physically to be as hard working an artist as you. Disney made the right choice when they hired you. Your gift is truly unique. Best wishes.
This is an amazing oil painting.... Makes me feel like I am there. The little waves and the sky is done beutifully. I like the way the sun shines through it, reminds of a clear sky after a rainstorm. The sun's glow on the cliffs is also done very well.
i know i'm only in the 8th grade but i do alot of work like this, this one really touches me. it makes me really think about life..it may have not meant that but it makes me look back on some wonderful dreams.
The moment I saw this picture, I said to myself, "thats the Cliffs of Moher!", not realizing of course, that it is. I was there in 2000. Your art work and inspiration fills me with awe and warmth. Thank you.
it filled me with a strange longing for what? i don "t know
Christophe, this is currently my favourite painting by any artist, including old masters as well as contemporary ones. Words will not do it justice so I will refrain from adding any more
with OIL?!??!1 amazing!
If only our earthly weather looked like your masterpieces...
No, there is no Photoshop manipulations. I either paint an image completely digital or completely traditional, except when I do line concept artwork. In that case, I do a pencil sketch first, and then I either put colors with traditional inks or watercolor on it or paint it in Photoshop or another program.
And the size of the canvas was 18" x 24".
Amazing detail! Is this really just oil with no Photoshop modifications?
How big is the actual painting?
Sorry, Tony, this is not the aeran island in Ireland, but the cliffs of Moher on the western coast of the country. Thanks for the nice words on my work nevertheless.
you take that picture from don angus in the aeran island, irland,I been there and ,its scary the big and incredible, you capture the sensation of the place, beautiful.
and I love your fliying rocks in amaizing lights.
I painted this from different pictures I took when I was in Ireland. And the girl is a friend of mine who posed for me.
Iv been to those cliffs, infact i have a photo which im comparing it too right now.
Very good!! I think the fact that iv been there lets me appreciat your work even more. Very very good.
how do you do it?
one could probably spend eternity looking at this
Wow, how I would LOVE to be in this picture; I could just stare at this for hours and hours...
Thank you, Christina. Touching words.
your scenery is so beautiful...I can almost smell the sea. Who needs vacation if we have more art pieces like this to look at
Thank you, Kishma. Yes, she's awaiting the return of a loved one.
You're right, those are the cliffs of Moher. I changed the forground a little, but overall it looks the same. I was there in 95. Amazing place.
Thank you, Linda.
By the way, your work is beautiful too.
All your work is beautiful. This piece is wonderful. Is she awaiting the return of a loved one, or watching him sail away...for how long? Great use of color to create a mood.
Your picture looks just like the Cliffs of Moher. I was there less than a week ago. It's so beautiful if you hang your head over the edge and look striaght down into the wild ocean. An enchanting place, your art captures the endless feeling that the cliffs give you.
How did you get such beautiful *glowing* light in this? I have a new artist to be totally envious of! I'm only going to leave one comment because honestly, if I commented on them all, it would be the same remark over and over again. All of your pieces are incredible and you do such a marvelious job creating mood. *stands and applaudes*
Aaaaaaah... *dreamily lost in the ladnscape*
Its amazing. I'm not sure whether or not this is a compliment, but I thought it was digital when I first saw it. Its so lucid and well done.
Do you need one more person saying your work is stunning? Well, I'll do it anyway. You are a master of light and atmosphere. This is the very height of oil painting skill - thanks for posting so many nice pieces!
