Hey Chris, I had some problems with my parents, but recently I've gotten a new Elfwood site, for the story I wrote for this. When I get it up, I'll comment and leave you the link!! Thanks for doing this for me, again.

chrisxavier's picture

Great to hear Steven! This is actually one of my own favorites too.

chrisxavier's picture

I have to confess that I worked pretty hard on the anatomy so I really appreciate the comment, thanks Dekel.

Thank you for commenting on my gallery. I am honored to have such a wonderful artist looking at my own artwork. This piece is one of the most moving things I've ever seen. The emotions in this piece are boundless. The details are amazing. I feel like I could reach out and touch his skin or wipe away her tears. I'm speechless at the magnitude of this piece. How on earth do you do shading like that?! The two hearts are a very nice touch. All of your artwork is absolutely amazing, but I believe this is your best piece. It is definitely my favorite. Keep up the great work!!!I'll be anxious to see updates in your gallery.

beautiful work and very natural anatomy!! I love it!

It's all about practise, practise and more practise! Anyone can draw if they just spend enough time with a pencil. But until your skills have gone skyhigh please feel free to come back and wonder around in my gallery collecting all the useful hints and inspiration that you can find.

This is my first time searching through the Epilogue site...and I'd just like to say that this picture caught my eye far more than anyone elses, not to say they weren't good too. I just really love the details and shading you used. If i could draw as well as you i'd be in heaven. Great Job!

Guest's picture

As always, Chris, your art is great! The emotion captured in it- wow! heh, I wish I was the girl Wink I love the way you do shading, especially how I can tell the skin tones are very different... all the subtle details, the hidden hearts, everything is great! Keep up the great work!

chrisxavier's picture

I've been busy with lots of work and I just haven't had the time. But now I'm back on track. Thanks for waking me up!

I appreciate your words Kalle. Hope to see you here in Epilogue soon. It would be really interesting to see your work nowadays.

Looking good Chris! I like your style, maybe a little artsy for me.. (måste ju berömma att du utvecklats från gamla bilder jag sett dig rita)

Guest's picture

I´d have to say that you´re better than I thought. A near perfect self-portrait, especially the face. Maybe even you will make something good out of yourself someday Wink

chrisxavier's picture

Yes, the heart around her head is intentional but what most people miss out on is that the wings also form another heart that goes around him. Two hearts, two wills--incredulous heart.

Guest's picture

I must say, this is absolutely breathtaking, as is your other art. But, hehe, I, of course being the writer that I am, have decided to come up with a whole entire novel behind it, lol. Would you be terribly A) Hateful B) interested in reading it C) okay with it, if I were to write something on it and post it on my own writing site? Email me, if you would, Mercy_Isolate@hotmail.com . I can also see how the wings of the demon form a sort of heart around the woman's face. I like that... Was it intentional?

I don´t know were to start but I´ll try to enlighten you as much as I can. First of all I´d like to thank you for the compliment on the picture. I´m personally very fond of this drawing since it reflects very well on a feeling I´ve had. It´s the feeling of knowing that I have hurt and lost that special girl. But enough about that. The reason to why I haven´t filled out any years of experience is very simple. I have been drawing for as long as I remember (as everybody else) and that is of course of no interest. I have never had any formal training other than "drawing" in school. Therefore I choose to leave the experience-field blank. On your question about WHO I´ve studied that answer is also simple--cause the guy you see in most of my drawings is me and I happen to be pretty familiar with my own anatomy. And on your question about WHERE I´ve studied the answer is even more simple--In front of the mirror every day for the last 10 years. But you are not totally mistaken cause my father is a great artist and I live in a family were art is very important, so naturally that has helped a lot. Now to the most interesting part... -Professional work! If you want to hire me for a job I am more than willing. But before the 2nd of April 2002 I have never had anything posted on the Internet or anywhere else. Finally I want to thank you for being so open and honest about your questions. If there is anything more you would like to know feel free to e-mail me.

I read that little artist descriptor below your name. Saying your a young artist with no experience? I assume you mean no formal training and even that is hard to believe. Your anatomy is near perfect. I can only nitpick about things im still havng trouble with.
this is probably your best work ive seen on your board. Id like to know who and or where you studied. Nobodies this good without studing for a couple years.
And if you are a naturall talent i wonder what are you going to do with it? id might want to check up on any proffessional work you do.

chrisxavier's picture

Thank you Patrick! I didn´t want the background to interfere too much with the actual motif so I´m very happy to hear you liked it.

Glad you like it Novita! There are many reason to why the underwear look the way they do. At first I didn´t know what to put there? At one point I was thinking about having him totally naked but that would have drawn too much attention towards one spot. So I asked my sister and she suggested a leaf but I wasn´t really sold out for the idea. Then I came up with these Tarzan-shorts but I wanted them to be somewhat different so I ripped them apart some. (Well, you can see his spikes and claws--it would be a miracle if they would have stayed in one piece. *smile*)

chrisxavier's picture

First of all I wish you the best of luck with getting approved and second I thank you for leaving such a nice compliment. About the guy who keeps showing up in my pictures.. Well, you can say he and I have a very special bonding.

Guest's picture

Well, i definitley belive you know.. (For the ones who doesn't know what I'm talking about, Chris was my Drawing-Teacher today.. He wrote this adress on the whiteboard, so we could check out his neat pictures.. and that's what they truely are: NEAT) ps. I was the kid with the airbrushed UFO drawing (which by the way is in my gallery).. Well.. I guess I'll see you sometime again soon.. by the way, the guy on the picture's you, right?

chimera's picture

Ow yeah! Oempf there it is!!Laughing out loud Heh, feel much honored for the dedication! WOAH! Damn, this is so freaking good and then to think I actually had a lil'hand in it..*big smile* I'm really impressed by your gorgeous pencilskills..the shades are so great..*looks amazed at her screen:)* Those veins and their whole anatomy are incredible. And again the hands are very powerful, just like the wings. The emotions are striking and the whole atmosphere is beautiful. I dunno what to say, just a stunning image and my personal fav together with 'fallen demon'en 'strong coffee'! Smile Keep it up man! ( hehe..his underwear btw..what happpend with it?Wink)

Really good rendering! The wings, especially, have a great tactile feel to them. And the sky is so subtle, yet just right... nice work!

Art at its best.
