Artwork Description

Desperately they had fled through a dark tunnel leaving the bleeding Rocthor guard behind. Now they were free and they were armed. Their enemies had made a crucial mistake. But just as Eileen and Xach thought that they had found their way out they walked right in to the ambush. The Rocthor captain raised his torch and laughed as Xach took his beloved Eileen behind his back. "Shred them into pieces!"

Has Eileen done all the fighting? Her sword is the one with all the nicks and dings in it. Xach's sword looks like it hasn't even seen battle. Excellent picture, also. I love the shading.

Why is Eileen's sword all beaten up with nicks and such while Xach's doesn't have a scratch on it? I would think he'd be doing an equal amount, if not more, of the fighting. However, it's still drawn very nicely, that's just the thing that caught my eye.

Of course he doesn't look scared - he's a daredevil of a swordsman.. Wink The "orange look" is easily created by manipulating the colour balance in any graphics program. I'm going to start doing a tutorial on how I work and I hope I'll get it up anytime soon. Thank you for the compliments.

Xach doesn't look scared or even surprised. He looks as if he was expecting the ambush. Regardless, I love your shading. The contrasts are wonderful. You have an orange look about many of your pieces which gives it a more dramatic visage. What sort of pencils do you use to create such an effect?

The model I use just happens to be very cheap, always willing and never disagrees with anything. He's a very convenient guy and I like to reward him with a few sketches from time to time... Wink

This is great Chris...first thing I thought was he uses himself as a model...Great idea...and ads to your awesome realism. Looks down at herself...Nawwwww!

Thanks, you're pretty OK yourself... *smiles*

Well, thank you Lady and take it easy in all of that smoke now. Wink

Cherish the pencil, your drawings are beautiful, ChrisX.

This drawing reminds me of that song from Linkin Park "In the End". *sniffs* i love that song...Anyway great art, dude, especially with the little story. The man on the moon is pleased. Smile Keep up with the dramatic images man! ALWAYS keep up! *laughs weirdly and disappears in a cloud of smoke* ~The Lady of Strange~

Feels great to hear that! And I agree about my digital work. I have a lot to learn in that area before they'll be able to compete with my pencils. Thank you for your encouraging words Ekatrina.

It was hard leaving out the horns but I had to accept that they didn't fit this image. I worked real hard on finding a suiting torch glow so I'm very glad you appreciated the warm color. Thank you Novita.

It is very convenient to draw myself since all I need is a mirror. Although I should probably try to be a little bit more creative in the future. Thanks Chris.

Chris. You are getting better and better. I think I prefer pencil over digital with your pictures because your wonderful style just fits wellwith pencils. Brilliant shading and I just love that gold light that the torch casted. Again wonderful!
