Artwork Description

-If I would've been in your fur Kitty, I would've started running, cause I don't give a rats ass about the food chain..." I have to thank Chris Shepard and Socar Myles for giving me the inspiration to do this image, Chris for pointing me in a new direction and Socar for her truly inspirational rats.

Hi Chris. You have marck perfection on the animals expression.Still you need to work more on the anthropomorphics if you are looking in giving more of human details. If not my pardons. This animals are far outthan your last animal expression.keep on the good work..

THE KITTEN I PUT IT IN THE ALICE IN WONDERLAND POINT OF VIEW....AND THE RAT REMINDS ME OF THE NUTCRACKER VALET....TWO MAGICAL STORIES IN ONE...THIS IS A NOTHER SIDE TO YOU.....

Awww! I love that kitty. You can't kill anything that cute so its safe. Really reminds me of the quote from Jeepers Creepers 2

"We just dropped a notch on the (blank) food chain!"

Hey, this picture reminds me of a movie I used to watch when I was young, The Nutcracker. hehe It's cute. I like your pencil techniques, I mostly only use pencil because I'm horrible at painting, although; once in a while I use ink. Anyway keep up the good work you are an amazing artist.

The kitten has no idea whats going on.Truly amazing. How do you get the brown in there? It makes it more wonderful than plain white.Poor kitty.....

Great spin on "big eyed kitty" art!

That really means a lot coming from you Socar - the Queen of rats herself! I actually found myself thrilled with excitement as I drew this one. Animals are fun and rats have a lot of personality going for them.

Hey, that is absolutely FANTASTIC! I love the expression on the rat's face, especially that little slurpy tongue! And the rendering is beautiful. Pencil, huh? That's got to be one of the loveliest pencil drawings I've seen to date--great contrasts, subtle shading...all-round excellent stuff.

Just like my cat who never knows what's going on either. Glad you liked it Mary.

I like to make people think or smile so if that's what I managed to do with this image at least I did something right. Drawing animals is something totally new to me so I really appreciate your words Ekatrina.

chrisxavier's picture

He's one prepared little rat that's for sure. Thank you Vera!

chrisxavier's picture

Thank you, I like your kittens too.

chrisxavier's picture

Yeah, that would be him alright... LOL Thanks Marcela!

After Chris pointed out my excessive use of a certain face I started browsing Epilogue for inspiration, but also searching for a subject matter totally new to me. After some clicking I ended up staring at one of Socar's rats and an idea began to slowly take shape in my head. I leave it up to the viewer to decide whether the rat turns the kitten to a snack or not, but I can give away that the feisty little fellow thought the snail was an excellent desert… *hint*

What a great Kitty and rat. Man this s so well rendered. I love the expression on the kitty face. Such sweet young innocence...but then you wonder if in the next moment it is going to wise up and show its ten weapons. Haha! I love a picture with a story. Great stuff...now I need to go see the rest of your work.

twstdrealty8's picture

awww, it's like the lil rat that thought he could. I can imagine him running out to a human's toes and just stabbing them to death with little needle pin-pricks saying "defeat is near...i will get youuuuuuuu" Smile

Art is a wonderful way to express yourself. But what is even more wonderful is to capture unique ideas and meanings in the picture. That is what truely stands out in the long run. Anyways, my point is that even the silliest and cutest of ideas can make a person stop and smile, or think deeply. Again a wonderful piece and you draw animals just as well as humans. Very well done Chris.

Art at its best.
