Artwork Description

They came in under the cover of darkness...underestimated and unappreciated, striking out to inflict heavy casualties. After that day, they would never be thought of as 'rabble' again.

this picture reminds me of an ex-boyfriend, he damaged one of his eyes in a phase of self-destruction

Many thanks. I've worked with this style for a year now, and I try to keep it sketchy and splattered. It's worked out well for me.

I agree with Cynthia, wonderful range of techniques and a very unusual style.
Excellent work Jon.

Much appreciated comments. Yeah, I try to fill these with tons of color. The eye is there to remind you that under all that armor, they are still human. I hope to have higher resolution drum scans of this on here soon. The original painting is 15x20 and had to be photographed.

Great mix of organic and inorganic themes, the eye gives such a human (and tragic) feel to these renderings. Love the watercolor technique, great use of color.

Cool painting, Jon. The way you used the watercolors is very neat.

Art at its best.
