Artwork Description

Arminius was a German tribesman who went to Rome when young and joined the Roman army. He gained quite a reputation as a Roman soldier and even gained Roman citizenship- then he went home when Rome started to war against the Germanic tribes. He united the tribes and taught them Roman tactics (I love the history channel : P).

Look its his art and it looks great so there really is no get historically accuracy down.

Excellent picture. But, historically flawed in two aspects.

Roman swords were generall gladiuses. They had no hilts. Secondly, most romans used tower shields. Greek's and Guals perfered circular shields. Generally speaking.
