Artwork Description

Some artists (Heather Bruton, Diana Stein, Susan Van Camp and others), decided it would be fun to pick three elements and each create a painting that had to use them in it. We were supposed to display that at a SF convention art show together, but several of us (me!) were too slow to make the set date. It was a wonderful example of how different paintings can be from one another, even when created by very like-minded fantasy artists, sharing the same subject matter!

Thanks--I'm very happy to be here. It's been a lot of fun. Very distracting from work--but fun! Smile

I love all your work, especially this one. It's almost surreal in its mix of elements, yet so realistic. I'm so glad you joined Epilogue! Welcome! Smile

I forgot to add that this painting was also published in _Spectrum 2: The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art_, was used for the cover of SCRYE Magazine, and also appeared in the FANTASY ADVENTURES ccg. All of that was after I just painted it for fun! Hmmm... I could have tweaked the levels a bit better in this scan, too. Oh, well.

Let me guess, buterflies were one of the elements! Just teasing. Beautiful painting here, it has a haunting quality.
