Artwork Description

This is just a character profile of Gandalf - probably roaming around Fangorn Forest before his reunion with part of The Fellowship. It was, more than anything, an excuse for me to indulge in some twisted and overgrown forestry. Oh, and that's a grumpy Huorn sleeping beside him, not an Ent Smile

Thanks a lot. Woodland is what I always enjoy to paint most, I think.

Indeed, I am in Epilogue, and glad to be here too! *waves*
Thanks for the comment and the advice. Your words certainly make sense in retrospect, and I really appreciate you taking the time to look at my work.

Peter, you are in Epilogue as well! *waves* Well, since I forgot to review this piece in Elfwood, I guess I´ll have to review it here Smile The composition here is simply wonderful, and I´d kill to do backgrounds like you do. Something looks a bit off with Gandalf´s arm, but it´s a minor detail. Maybe if you´d made the background a bit darker or more dramatic the white of Gandalf´s robes would stand out more, but it looks wonderful like this anyway. You should really be proud of this piece!

Thanks a lot. I appreciate your comments, particularly as this is not a favourite of mine.

Your style is very refined and personal. I love how the colors and composition are restrained, yet parts like the branches burst with energy. Quite a lovely piece.

Art at its best.
