Thanks, Chris! Nah, I didn't felt offended or somethings just wanted to narrow the wide term "photo-manipulation" to what I actually did, which had more to do with using photo manipulation techniques on self-made images than manipulating photos.
This is superb work Holger. I really get a sense of enormity from the armada and I love the ship designs, sinister and unique! The galaxy background is beautiful! very impressive.
Oh and by the way, I was the "Pro Art Critic" I was in awe at the time, and totally kidding around, there was no sarcasm intended, or any attempt to accuse you of lowly photo-manipulation tricks. Have a great day!
that starfield is great! not to mention the fleet of ships and planets... a really nicely meshed work - i mean that the ships actually look like they are part of the scene. great work!
Thanks, uwe. I'm glad you like it because I was dumb enough to overwrite my source data so atm there's little chance to rework this piece. But I'm happy about the way it turnt out and think I might do similar pictures in the future!
holy cow - now thats a really stunning piece - more than excellent job!!!!!! - congrats and thanks for posting!
Thank you very much. Maybe another word about how I did the picture. The only usage of photos were various stone textures used as brush textures to create the geographical structure of the planets. Otherwise the whole rest is manual hand painting with an aweful lot of combination with digital retouching tools.
Awesome manipulation of the stuff, and great juxtaposition of the thingies.
