you should see iron maiden's new artwork for their 2010 album the final frontier. its heavily borrowed from your creation

Guest's picture

I hope you are collecting royalties from the artist who designed the newest Iron Maiden cover seeing as it is directly borrowed from your art.

Very good picture. I think that this artwork was very good inspiration for Melvin Grant, and his artwork for Iron Maiden album Final Frontier.

I want to buy this artwork

Thank you, Jessica, for the nice comments regarding "Final Frontier." This illustration recently won a Judge's Choice Ribbon at Worldcon Art Show.
Randall Ensley

You've done a lovely job on this Randall. It has quite the stark, cold feel to it. Well done.

For more examples of my illustrations please search the internet for keyword

I'd say the main technique is stippling. For a true master, please check out the artwork of the great Virgil Finlay!

Hey, Denny, thanks for the comments! The pens I use are "Micron" and "Pilot" precise V5 Extra Fine. Please keep up with your artwork, you are quite talented!

Randall this illustration is amazing. I'm not familiar with the technique used but nonetheless awesome.

H,
In Space No One Can Hear You Freeze.

Perhaps these poor souls died from radiation exposure or some other calamity while ship's life support continued for years later oblivious to their fate. Where is HAL when you need him?

Guest's picture

Very nice concept! Also like your gritty texture. But if these guys died in space, should they freeze-dried as opposed to decayed like they're now? Oh well doesn't matter. Awesome picture!

No this image is not Lance Bass.

Hi Anneke
The Art Duel site seems to be successful! I will contact you soon to discuss the pens!
You mentioned the dots...sometimes it takes an hour to do a couple square inches. Thanks for noticing!

DM,
Thank you for the kind words. Let's hope this will be a great Fall for both of us!

Thank you for the nice comments. I'll be posting more illustrations on Epilogue in the near future.

There is your winning duel picture. Good, you've placed it here, now I can tell you how much I like this image. Smile The detail is stunning, also the composition. I wonder how many little dots there are. I would like to try this too, do you use special pens?

Incredible work, Randall. This must have taken you forever to finish. Stippling drives me nuts! This is very cool.

nice ink work...I haven't seen dot work in ages...you do it great. Lots of fun textures and interesting shapes too. Not to mention that the subject is so impacting...Well done.

Art at its best.
