Artwork Description

The story behind this one, is that the "raven" is not a mere bird, but a familier to this warrioress. He is guiding her towards the end of her long journey.
A commission piece by a friend of mine, who played this character in D&D.

not bad...I've a fantasy character (a fighter/necromancer) who has a raven familiar...the two can merge, with the result being a drow elf with black wings...Eden Celeste did a picture of her for me that came out gorgeous...anyway, your work (all of it) is beautiful

Very nice I wish I could draw

Thamk you for that comment...yes their is a story about this piece...something about the character not being such a good girl. It was a commission, but I don't know too much beyond what I was told about her. Raven as familers...isn't a good thing.

This is my favorite of all your works. It is stunningly beautiful, and tells a story, I think, more than any of your other images. The atmosphere is so mysterious, and the raven adds a touch of mystery as well. Gorgeous!

Wow!! Stunning Carrie, really wondeful. Do you give classes? ~lol~ (Just kidding!) I truly admire all of your work!

This image is to die for - I'm flabbergasted that you're doing what you do with coloured pencils! I'm really in admiration, the effects you've achieved here are just fantastic! Your compositions are always interesting, as are your women, but I certainly love the highlights and magical feel you created here. Her hair is expecially well done, as is the costume and the water. Truly superb!

some is airbrush...I use it to mainly give glows. As for the rest, it's all colored pencil. As for my sizes of originals, this one is about 14x17. I am starting to work bigger, (16x20) But, i think that size will be the biggest I will work in right now. to expensive to mail for prints!

Thnak you for the kind compliment! I actually wish I could dabble in the "digital" medium myself....just need my own computer!::sighs with sorrow::

Can't believe this is colored pencil! Looks like airbrush to me, how big is the original? Beautiful work!

0.0 I came here after you left a comment on one of my pictures --- what can I say? you're a master. If I could use colored pencils like this, I'd never turn on my mac again, really! What I like best aside the fact your characters are all very beautiful, is the accuracy and the "feeling" (don't know if it's the right term) you put in your backgrounds. Keep up the incredible work!

Carrie, I think this is my favorite. The coloring is so beautiful. Great airbrush work.

I can't decide if I like the colours in this more then her hair. Beautiful piece.

Art at its best.
