Artwork Description

Definitly a present for myself. Boromir is my favourite character in the book. The only human, the one that believes so blindly in his own strength that is led to doom by his own weakness - his love for mankind.

Really like this, bravo.

Boromir always and I suspect always will be my favourite LOTR character. One of the other posters mentioned that we see human failings in him and sean Bean described the character as a good baddie or bad goodie - a description I love.
My favourite moment in the films is Boromir's speech at the council of Elrond where he forgets the occasion and the grand assembly and reminds them all exactly what the score is, they have the luxury of debating the problem because Gondor sacrifices itself for the greater good . 'By the blood of MY people are your lands kept safe' - what a line!

I too love the Boromir character, he's been my favorite since I was a kid. Didn't matter if my mom was reading me the books, I was watching that old animated piece, or the new, outstanding Peter Jackson films, hes the best. I also thought the theatrical versions of the new trilogy kinda painted him in bad light, although yes, Sean Bean rocked the character!!! But I also think the extended editions showed much more in depth about this guy, even stuff only hinted at in the books, like his love for his family and his concern over his father's mental and spiritual state (like that whole series about Osgiliath!); things like that really explain why he wanted to believe so badly that the ring could save his world. Now as for the artwork here: I really like it, its very close to Sean Bean's character, but just "distant" enough to make you think its the actual man out of historic portraits, that Peter Jackson used to cast the character. I also like the runes and the semi-grainy effect, like looking through time... A++++ Love, "The Viking"

The faint colouring of the eyes really makes this picture. Not sure if it's a trick of lighting or the paper, but well done, all the same.

This is the first time I have felt the desire to actually post a comment. Never mind the subject matter (I too think Boromir is a great character, though), but this is probably the best rendering of a man that I have seen on Epilouge. A lot of the women are gorgeous, yes, but I have seen very few men, human or otherwise, that are this well depicted. Simply amazing!

Very beautiful, the first artwork of boromir i've seen. Very good, i love it, can't you tell? I do like Boromir, for, he was only what his father made him, right? As with faramir, they both tried desperately to please denethor, only boromir was sucessful. And to think, boromir only went to rivendell because his father sent him...

I love the way how you portryed Boromir/Sean Bean. It has the essence of Sean Bean but can also stand alone as simply Boromir. The eyes hold that same mournful quality as I have always thought to be in Boromir, but also that spark of complete loyalty and devotion, the love for life in his people. He was one of my fav characters and Sean Bean did a masterful job of portraying him, just as you have done.

::wanders into this place and finds this wonderful pic:: AHAHA!God, you gotta love Boromir!

EEEEEEEEEEEEE> BORIMIR IS SO FINE OHH THIS PIC MAKE HIM LOOK... ~ pants.~ very well done

Gods, I love him. Sean Bean did do an excellent job in the movie, didn't he? I loved the costuming they did for him too. Anyway, you can see his influence in your work. I honestly can't tell whether you were trying to draw *him* or not, but I don't want to offend by assuming either way. Got those killer bangs tho'. I really love the way you did the facial hair. It looks...real. No one can ever do facial hair, it seems. Boromir fans! Forward! ::giggle::

again another beautifull rendering. awesome Laughing out loud

Yes, yes, yes... Many follow you! *laughs*. A pretty looking blond guy with spiky ears. What more can a woman ask for? lol I'm glad my picture helped you to enjoy Boromir a little bit more! ^^

This is very great picture but I kind of miss your colors and wonderful and intense strokes. Oh well, atleast I can find peace with you for my love falls to Legolas... and you know how many follow me... or is it I follow them? ::shrugs shoulders:: Before I saw this sketch I really did not like Boromir... but you really made him look loyal and... well.... wonderful I suppose. Again very well done. Keep drawing.

Ah, I didn't say I didn't like Sean Bean! I actually loved his performance. I think he was a great choice for Boromir. I just don't like the way the script made him look like. The moment he opens his mouth in the council, people that haven't read the book start to hate him... Oh well, you cannot have it all, can you? ^^

Thank you for the comment!

Aragorn loved Boromir too... Great skill in your artwork. And I like the hands you're showing in your profile, clever idea.

I still say Boromir was one of the most well-portrayed characters in the movie. Sean Bean rules!

Very nice picture, too. You can immediately recognize who it is. The grainy effect is also interesting, somewhat reminiscent of an image printed on denim.

I usually work with watercolour paper, like «canson». But My favourite one is «tiziano», which has very thin horizontal lines. This one was done over a very textured watercolour paper. Thank you ^^

Beautifully drawn. Did you render this on a canvas paper? The texturing is great.

Ahhhhhhh... It's so nice to find people that actually like Boromir... They are quite rare, specially these days. The film was not very kind to him. But yes, I agree with you. I guess we see ourselves in him. (except for those strange guys that believe they where elves in their past lives, LOL)

He's also one of my favorites. I especially like the rune work you added.

Boromir is one of my favourite characters in the book as well. He is so human. I think we all recognize ourselves in him.

Art at its best.
