Artwork Description

This poor hummingbird got the fright of her life when she was ever so innocently checking out this lovely rose... Poor thing...

So you may want to watch out for Bertha... cos, as you can see.... Bertha's got some killer camoflauge;)

I chose to do a carnivourous rose because I have noted that roses are always portrayed as romantic... or just a pretty decoration... so i thought it would be kinda funny to portray this beautiful flower into something a bit scary/frightening/creepy... while keeping the humour of it all at the same time;)

Hehe... this is basically a light hearted for fun picture... but at the same time a statement (well sort of). Ive noticed many fantasy artists focus soley on animals... when there is a whole other kingdom of living things to play with.... Plants! So I hereby challenge all artists (that see this anyway) to play with a plant and make it something unreal... Its fun, I promise!=)

Hmm... Ill have to look it up... sounds interesting=) Although Bertha doesnt (usually?) throw thorns... she prefers the constricting then gobbling up in one bit method much better... heh...Wink

Nasty! Reminds me of the roses in American McGee's Alice, from memory they also throw thorns at you. Interesting concept Smile

Art at its best.
