having done a string of light fantasy and sf stuff, i took a pendulum ride to the other side of the studio. welcome back epilogue!
I love this pic. I think it would have been cool if the snake was a skeleton or undead...
thanks inge, glad you like!
hey chris! yeah, i intentionally worked within the frazetta 'a' to see what advantages it offered and i loved it as an organizing principle. thanks for stopping by, mate!
Great new addition to your gallery Jeff... nice composition.
Man Jeff, I can't help but see some seriuos Frazetta influence here which is great. Beautiful work, solid composition, nice stuff.
why thanks markey! (er, marley). so nice to have the opportunity to read some of your commentary again mate!
as to brushes, i use digital airbrush set at 10% opacity, usually on semi-opaque layers (often gel and multiply for tinting), which adds up to kind of a glazing technique, like in oil painting. for some modeling and edges i use painter's variable round oil brush, which kind of drags the 'paint' around in fun ways.
i love your new painting by the way!
err sorry for the typo jeff, s and f are close cousins well on the key board anyhow!. Incidently which brushes do you use in painter?.
thats a finely painted piece of art jess. A simple but very effective composition, and great colours to bring it all home too!. Awesome character design!.
