Artwork Description

This was done for the upcoming novel "A Murder in Marienburg" by David Bishop, due out this summer, and published by Black Library, the fantasy/science fiction publishing imprint of Games Workshop.

The assignment: do an homage to Rembrandt's "Abraham and Isaac" set in the medieval world of Warhammer, with the sublime angel replaced by a murderous giant ninja rat. Could it get any better than that?

Fantastic painting, Jeff, you sure have captured that feel of the old masters in this piece....superb drama too!

This is great work Jeff! It has the feel in its composition and lighting of an old oil painting by one of the Masters. I really like the body position of the guy who's been stabbed, his crumpled legs and arm dropping down with his head back is just perfect and he's definitely the strongest figure. Quality work!
