Artwork Description

I was browsing some nature photos and one of them showed a forest with light shining through trees in the background.. I really liked that so that's how it turned out.

Yeah, the leaves were a bit of an experiment, I wasn't sure how I was going to do them... I decided to draw a small part and tile it all over the area scaling and skewing as needed, getting a 3d feel in Photoshop Cool.

I like foggy bg's generally, though foggy forrests can have an especially deep feeling I guess Smile.

Thanks, you're right about the light ;D.

Thank you for looking, I appreciate the attention Wink.

Thanks, the bg was the focus of this piece Smile. Dunno about the armor, it's one of the simplier ones cause I was a bit lazy designing a detailed outfit.

Yes, the color composition was one of the things I cared for in this piece.
I guess you're right about the lightning of the figure, my problem was that there were no obvious light sources other than the backlight, so I ignored it and shaded it as if the light was everywhere...

The detail and lighting in the forest is really gorgeous. I love how well the colors on the figure are reflected in the rest of the piece. My only complaint is that the figure's lighting doesn't seem consistent with the environment. I think the shadows should be harsher and she'd be more backlit from that bright light on the horizon.

The background with the morning haze is fantastic. The only thing I'm not over keen on is the shoulder armour, it looks a little bit 'plasticky' and doesn't look like it's convincingly held/strapped/buckled onto her body.

Her dress, is so beautiful, the color are so beautiful too, and the leafs!

Excellent image! great colour work and nicely rendered figure, like her hair! but that light effect is the business!

I like the background too. Foggy forests are the best landscapes !

Awesome depth and atmosphere in the background. All those leaves! I can't believe how much work you put into them!

Art at its best.
