Sentry Box Coat of Arms by dark-sidhe
I wasn't sure this would have a place on Epilogue, but recently I've come across a couple of heraldic designs in other galleries, and so I thought I'd include this one in my own.
This crest is in print, in black and white, at the bottom of the gift certificate used by "Canada's Largest Adventure Gaming and Science Fiction & Fantasy Book Store," the Sentry Box. I designed and wrote the copy for the gift certificate itself, but it's primarily text, so I've featured just the crest here.
At left is the sentry dragon who acted as the emblem for the Box for years; he represents the fantasy/military aspects of the store. At right is a mech, representing science fiction. Atop the central, new logo, are piles of books. In the crest are four quadrants: in the upper left, we have a sword over a GM gamescreen, atop a background of classic basement wood paneling. In the upper right, networked computers, to suggest the Box's PC game room. At bottom left, a hexmap for board game play. And at bottom right, a pair of classic dice, cruel mistresses by which so many games are won and lost.
The latin in the scroll means, roughly, "I breathe, therefore I play."
