Artwork Description

Originally in oils,I added a touch of photoshop/wacom playing around.Pretty old piece, and basically a bit of tongue and cheek about a certain subject matter.

Well I supose he couldn't live for ever but it is still hard to see the death of a favourite character. It's wonderful, I love the light and the way it falls on his axe and helmet. You've really capture the pain as well Sean.

But this is fantasy and he can always be reborn I supose? Smile

Conan, man, Sean you've done Conan, don't know how I didn't get to this one sooner, but then the computer's been up and down like a yo-yo! I was brought up on Conan and I've seen some pretty spectacular illustrations of him...this is up there Sean, I didn't need the title I knew it was him, nice touch with the REH on the tombstone, man, this would make an excellent poster or book cover! by crom it would!

Conan is one of my fav as well he always did things his way, truly the original Barbarian second to none. This piece is dramatic and very stylized with your aproach to the mist or steam clouds. Overall I like it.

Yeah,Conan has been with me for about thirty years now, every since I saw those Frazetta paintings.I dont do him much anymore but I'd have to say he is my favorite fantasy character and sometimes I just cant help doing one from time to time-In fact I have one in the works now-much,much darker in subject matter,ya know-the good stuff, lots of gore and blood-Conan doing what he does best:)Thanks Bill!

Nice work, Sean. The nice, solid rendering shows your mastery of the medium. I especially like how his face turned out.
