Artwork Description

This piece was done as a celebration of cats, so I went back to when cats were worshipped as gods. (replaced with slightly better scan)

I really love the colors on this one. The gold seems to just glow, and it's very striking. I think you did a great job on the cat, too, as ever -- and though the previous poster might disagree with me, I think those anatomical discrepancies, whether they're real or stylistic, just add to this particular piece.

I chose to use a strange looking breed, the Abysinian breed. They are considered one of the oldest breeds and date back to cats that may have been domesticated by Egyptians. They have elongated necks, narrow chests and small feet. The strange coloring, blue and pink, are also true to the cats I have seen in person and photos. Thanks, though

I think the rendering, color and composition are nice, but the cat's anatomy is pretty far off. The neck is too long, the back feet are too small, and there is something really funny going on with the chest. Take a very close look at cat anatomy, preferably from a live cat rather than a photo, and you will see what I mean.

I just love how you did her body, exactly the way a cat is, graceful
just look how she carries that nosering , i mean, when i hear nosering i think "bull", but it looks wonderful on her. and the eyes ...

wonderful work!

Ho! what a regal looking character, so aloof! nicely done with lovely details, especially the back wall, also beautifully coloured! The Cat is a star!

Art at its best.
