This is another of my cinematically-inspired images. Wacom drawn in PS 7.
The chest piece and both arm pieces seem pasted on. But I generally like the mood of all your paintings I am commenting on this one because it is my least favorite. I am alittle shocked why this was accepted this way.
Hi Holger! I use a mix of techniques for the finished pieces, mostly digital tricks I've learned along the way. I mostly use a WACOM tablet, though I still use the mouse for details, and my favourite - the smudge tool! I've never used poser, I was trained on MAYA but I haven't used 3D in years. I am still working with motion, I know my figures appear blocky or static, I'm one of those portrait artists who has trouble portraying action or movement, but I'm working on it!
All these charakters are wonderfully done and the cinematic feel really fits the pictures. One question concerning the pictures. What technique do you use? Sometimes it looks like photo manip or Poser combined with a digital overpaint?
Thank you for your comments Jackie! The details are what I enjoy doing most in these pieces!
Very beautiful image. The detail in the armor is quite nice - intricate but not overpowering. And it's interesting to see a warrior depicted in such a soft style.
