Artwork Description

This displays the three interior panels of a hinged-triptych altarpiece in goache on illustration board portraying the gods of Lois Bujold's _Chalion_ and _Paladin_ universe, with the center an interpretation of the fifth godof no season, of miracles and disasters: the bastard. Many of the design elements are derived from detailed studies of moth wings and helical vines, a function of some of the medieval theological elements in Bujold's universe. The right side is the Daughter of Spring's and the left the Son of Autumn's (rather a change from our Western genderation of binary sides) while the larger central panel is a non-figurative, slightly-Gaiman derived composite of moth and vine elements.
