A slightly ominous mermaid, but then I wanted an eerie original feel (this 2nd version is an improved scan)
Thank you, Jennifer, I am so glad you like my stuff, especially as I admire your work so much!
What a STUNNING gallery you have, James! Your work is absolutley amazing and beautifully done. I adore this piece in particular. I love the skin tones and her pretty, otherworldly eyes. Love it!
Thank you, Rita! I think it may be getting near the time to attempt another merma....with acrylic this time!
What a sea-beauty. Great work, James Love the fishes!

Wow, you are incredibly good with colored pencils! I love how the mermaid seems to have a subtle glow about her.
Thank you, Jade! I'm glad you like!
Gorgeous mermaid!! Yes--you're right about the somewhat ominous feel to it--yet, I love the way it has a soft luminous quality to it. Your masterful use of the medium is just mind-boggling! ^_^
Ha Thank you, Donna, I can't wait to see your next piece!

It's funny, David! I nearly didn't finish this one, and she's turning out to be one of my most popular, thank you so much!
I love this. Some of my favorite areas:
The iridescence shimmer to the skin,
The wispy translucency of the fins,
& the clown fish.
As a whole, this is brilliant.
Thank you, Alice! I loved your gallery!
The colors of her skin is very beautiful against those dark colors. I love her expression too.
Yeah! Jessica, I guess she is a bit of an Arnold, lol! still, I'm glad you liked it even so! Thank you

There is nothing simple about this picture however. Gorgeous. I wish I could do color -sighs- Those fish are just . . . perfect. I love the background and her hair . . . . I love this picture.

Then I have to say, this is the first of your pieces I watch, and I am in shock of the beauty I see.
Pencil are not a very commonly used medium here at epilogue, your skills leave me in adoration !
Thank you for the words Jennifer, yes I do crosshatch now and again, but I have no hard and fast rules on shading techniques, it really depends on what I'm doing at the time and what kind of surface I'm working on
...she's perfect, but then, I'm a water chick, too. She almost looks like a chalk, do you crosshatch alot? You have really beutiful work...
