Gorgeous mermaid!! Yes--you're right about the somewhat ominous feel to it--yet, I love the way it has a soft luminous quality to it. Your masterful use of the medium is just mind-boggling! ^_^

I love this. Some of my favorite areas:
The iridescence shimmer to the skin,
The wispy translucency of the fins,
& the clown fish.

As a whole, this is brilliant.

Thank you, Alice! I loved your gallery!

Beautiful picture!
The colors of her skin is very beautiful against those dark colors. I love her expression too.

Thank you for the words Jennifer, yes I do crosshatch now and again, but I have no hard and fast rules on shading techniques, it really depends on what I'm doing at the time and what kind of surface I'm working on

analanahune's picture

...she's perfect, but then, I'm a water chick, too. She almost looks like a chalk, do you crosshatch alot? You have really beutiful work...

Art at its best.
