I did this one purely on a wim
I hope she did not stay sad for too long! Was she losing you? The other aspects of the picture are also excellent...We have a pair of bluetits, nesting in a box outside our sitting room window, for the first time this year! Even a little mouse visited us a couple of weeks ago, in the garden...it was sunbathing! We do not have any roses, though! Melancholy shines through! A lovely picture! Sue UK
Thank you so much, Dear Guest
well done its great
Thank you, Rita! y'know I'd love to try another one like this, but next time making the clown a lot happier!
One of your brightest paintings. Love this, especially the butterfly, bird and humble-bee. But also the 'sad' look of her. Good job - as always James!
Thank you dear Guest, yeah, this does kinda hold a sad reminder of some things in my life!
This is so lovely. The painted smile hides her sad look. The figure seems sad to me but the surroundings are so light and colorful. does this piece mean to mask somthing? Either way its nicely done. Beautiful...
Now that I know you are a Cure fan, Dani, wouldn't it be a hoot to do this one again in their gothic style? thank you!
another beautiful picture of a clown, I like it so much!
Thank you, Inge, I'm so glad you like it!
Stunning image James! Love it
Thank you, Marisa, I have to say that in my opinion the materials that you use makes all the difference, the higher the quality the better the effects, my favourite watercolour pencils are Caran D'ache or Derwent.
Oh I just want to give her a huge hug... How do you do it, James! Your a miracle worker with coloured pencil.. great work.
Thank you Howard, an artist's praise is praise indeed!
love that face! a beautiful composition!
Thank you Erika, nice to be praised by someone who's work you admire!
excellent attention to detail, I'm suprised I missed this one the first time in your gallery. Beautiful work!!
Thanks Michele-Lee, I won't mention any names but a friend of mine once broke up with her boyfriend, and the look she had in her eyes has stuck with me ever since...but she's happy now!
so very sad. The eyes are so deep, and wistful. I really like the whole picture, but it is the eyes that do it for me. They are captivating.
Thank you Patience, I really enjoyed doing this one, especially the critters!
Ah! "the eyes have it"as they say, I really didn'nt expect much interest on this one, thanks for your input Patrick
Thanks Christine, I was trying to get a kinda daydream look, but a creepy look'll do me(chuckle!)
Know what? The eyes on the clown really creep me out, for some reason...which is a very good thing! I love being creeped out...and hooooray for colored pencil!! Keep up the good work....
The colors are lovely. And I especially like all the little critters....
Very well done, James. Those eyes really tell a story.
Your appreciation is most welcome, thanks
