For anyone who needs an Angel!
Thank you dear Guest! I like to think of Angels as being kinda approachable, y'know awe-inspiring yet not untouchable!
I've never considered any angel ordinary. But she is so beautiful. You do a lovely job. Congrads.
Thank you, dear Guest, your interpretation is pretty much spot on!
Absolutely amazing. This picture leaves me breathless and speachless. The face is almost sexless, and has so much emotions. It's as if the angel is deeply torn. Maybe and wants the person to come to them for comfort, but wont force them. And at the same token the hands are open, waiting for whomever. Yet are slightly curved yearning to give love...
Just my interpretations! Yet again, excellent! By far my favorite!
To be honest, Donna, the negative spaced background in your picture works very well, sorta makes your figures appear more solid, I think you have found a nice style here which will just grow and grow! thank you for the kind words
wow all your work is wonderful and thank you for leaving such a lovely comment on my site but the picture you commented on I would like to fix the backround I am still not happy with it and can figure out how to get the feeling of depth I want you seem to have a great talent for that can you give me any suggestions?
Thank you Madeleine, I realy love the reactions I get to this one, cause it is a fav of mine!
Wow, those eyes just captivated my heart the instant I saw them. And the comforting and eager desire to help is really striking! That angel is wonderful, James!
Thank you dear Guest! Yeah, I think I'm going through a kinda tonal phase at the moment, trying different shades of paper to get varied skin tones! I must say it is a real honor to be praised by a relative of such a talent! Stefany's eloquence and kind heart obviously runs in the family
After reading your many wonderful comments about my neice Stefany's work, I had to check you out. I was totally blown away by this amazing pencil drawing. The face is so youthful and kind with what look like freckles sprinkled across a lovely nose, sensitive (and almost sexy) lips and sparkly innocent eyes. (I think a deeper shade would have jumped out too much..did you mean for them to match your background shade? I'm sure you did! ^^)Wonderful detail on the feathers and the graceful hands reach into your heart with a gentle yearning. **Wow** I just love it! Keep up the fine work!
Yeah, Uwe, Colour pencils are my favourite medium at the moment, but I'm venturing back into oils for a couple of projects, Thanks for the kind words!
oooh - wow - this is soo well drawn - stunning what you can do with colored pencil - the hands are just awesome -
Oh my oh my! Jessica Palmer's been inspired by me, Mum come and look at this!...I don't know what to say, Jessica! you have made my YEAR! I can't wait to see what you come up with, it's bound to be great! I love colour pencils you know, and I think it is a great medium to work with, and given the chance can produce some really nice stuff! ho ho, Jessica! can't wait! thank you, thank you!
James, as someone who has chronic difficulty with hands, I am bowing to the master! This is so simple yet so perfectly sublime. I missed it when it went up but will be returning to visit it from now on. . . especially since I just got my very first watercolor pencils (inspired by you!)
Y'know Niina, I might just do that! thank you for the kind words
I don´t usually much care for angels, but this is really, really good. And yes, especially the hands, as someone said. If this is an ordinary angel, why not draw unordinary angel next?
Thank you Ren, actually neither he or she, Angel shouldn't be limited by gender in my opinion!
This is to amazing for words! The angel looks so realistic that for a few seconds I thought it (not sure if it's a he or a she) moved. This is beautiful and I look forward to seeing more of your work. -Ren
Heh heh! Christine, well the idea behind the title is that I think Angels should be approachable kinda people, and even the Arch Angels can't be there for everyone (I think I've said what I mean! lol!) Thank you so much and I hope Aunt Fanny liked it too! LOL!
Ordinary angel, my Aunt Fanny....exquisite! I so adore your colored pencils, with your light touch.
Ah! the Art Warrior! I think your entry has got to be a serious contender, Rafal! praise from you is an honor, thanks!
Thank you, Marisa! I'm sure you're emotions are a mirror to a kind heart!
I know what you mean, Kay! with all of this sunny weather I've been getting, has meant I've missed a few days of postings! still, it's something to look forward to, going over on a rainy day, thank you muchly for the words!
there are a lot of things I like about this one - the anatomy, the idea with the wings/feathers, the fantastic use of colors to depict the skin, overal feeling of "light".. and above all - the expression of those beautifully lively eyes!
Oh, dear... this is truely breath taking... I love when an image brings a slight mist to my eyes... Just... wow... This is perfection and purity at its highest... Just... wow.
Oooo James this is so lovely. Thanks for commenting in my gallery I missed this when it was posted. Everything about this is GASP....
I am like Patrick I want to go buy some colored pencils...lol..can't take them out I haven't used them in years.
I just love it when someone masters a medium as you have.
Thank you Denny, you do some pretty inspirational stuff by the way!
