Artwork Description

The cover of Mangaphile #17, Radio Comix. My pencils and computer colors, Phil Morrissey's inks. I like the little crab at the bottom.

Thanks! I've always been a huge fan of the woodblock prints myself. I have seen Masami Teraoka's work and think it's pretty darn nifty. My favorite is "McDonald's Hamburgers Invading Japan" (http://www.lava.net/~artbeat/images/McDonalds.gif) Thank you again for your kind words. ^_^

I love ukiyo-e, so it's cool to see pics like this around. The picture is fun, lots of energy and stylee crab-action, which is nice too. You might not be interested, but there's a cool artist called Masami Teraoka (I think) who uses old formal traditions combined with modern situations, check him out.

Thank you so much! I'm working on my photoshop color and have always admired yours. A compliment from you on the tech end of things means a whole lot.

What a great expression! Good work on the tech stuff too! I especially like the background with the traditional Japaneese watercolor style and the crab is a terrific touch! Well done!

The image is titled Hokusai weeps due to the cheerful destruction of the landscape by our grinning protagonist. No worries though, at the angle the bike is hitting the sand our chica will be eating it (the sand that is) before long. Wink

is hokusai weeping because the biker-chick is disrupting his waves or blocking the view of fuji? Smile interesting take on some traditional themes.

Art at its best.
