Artwork Description

This was done before the film was released. I wanted to capture that terrible quiet that came after the Ents flooded the Wizard's Vale.

I like your interpretations! And the quality of your paint...

Thank you very much Smile I must admit I'm not sure what terror-fearian is though.
I painted this before the films came out and before I'd seen that famous picture of Alan Lee's, and I'm glad because I think all that geometry would have influenced me away from the organic look I was going for at the time.

nice to see another interpretation of isengard other then alan lee's now infamous monument of terror-fearian

Thank you very much for your kind comment Elvandar! Smile

cool! You drew Isengard more like a rocky mountain/pillar formation. Almost like a huge, evil stalagmite!

A fabulous work of art, which is very moving indeed. I think "Aftermath" captures the essence of this work perfectly. You have seemed to encapsulate the saddening silence that followed the brutality of Isengard in this one sweeping moment. Truly beautiful. Elvandar.

Obrigadissima Vera! Um, as you can see my native language isn't Portuguese lol! I am actually English although I do live in Portugal, I can understand it but my own Portuguese is..... well, if my Portuguese were an art movement it would be Abstract Impressionism!

Grande interpretação de Isengard! I am writing in Potuguese because I understood it is your native language. Am I right?

Just having another look. I'm so impressed! by the way, I too am a fan of the Gladiator sountrack! I always listen to it when I paint.

Thank you Dekel and Nell!
So it is eerie is it? Mwahahahaha, perfect! A great compliment! Funnily enough, although I always intended this to be Isengard, I found the best inspiration for painting it came from listening to a particular track from the 'Gladiator' soundtrack, very, very loud.
