Done for the Second Edition Blue Planet RPG, sometime in early 2001.
You know, I kind of forgot I had an account here.
I submitted about 3 pieces back in March, but this is the only one that made the cut, apparently. Thanks for the comments, too! It's supposed to be kind of a sad piece, and I was indeed thinking of "Dark Star" when I was doing it. As for Bradbury's story...I don't think I've ever read "Kaleidoscope", which is odd, seeing as how I love Bradbury.
Hopefully, I'll be able to get more artwork up soon, from the project I'm working on now. Keep your fingers crossed.
I can't decide if this image is very liberating or really sad... for me its sad, it looks as though something has just ended abruptly and now he is floating helplessly away into space.
I had a quick look at your website, there is some great stuff there, I hope you're going to post more soon?
By the way, your 'story' scared the crap out of me. Thought you'd be pleased.
...or the old Bradbury story "Kaleidoscope" from The Illustrated Man.
It kinda reminds me of that scene from the old movie Dark Star, after the bomb blew up...
