Artwork Description

This painting was done at the San Diego comicon art auction...meaning I painted it onstage with various amounts of people watching. The first time I did this, years ago, I was pretty nervous, but now it doesn't bother me too much....guess I am an extrovert after all!

I was looking through your gallery and just had to comment
to capture any messure of life with water colors is exceedingly hard. they are one of the mediums that are almost etherial with its motions. but I have to say your work is amazing just truely breath taking in the life you capture

One of my fave of yours. That purple dressed girl is incredible! When I see her I start to believe in vampires:)

Thanks victoria and Klaudia....yeah, I use models (most often, photos of models)...I could never get that individuality out of my head. I pay a lot of attention to the light when I shoot the photos so that it is as dramatic as possible. I sometime feel like I have become stuck in a rut, as far as relying on the reference, but it seems to work for me, at least for now.

Another awesome piece! Got a question... do you use reference photos or models at all? Or is this all out of your head? The rendering of light and shadow is amazing..and they look like they could be real people because they are so unique and inidivual looking.

I absolutely love this!!! It's sooo amazing, one of the best Vamp pics I've seen on Epilogue actually. The think I especially like are the shadows and the play of lights...extraordinary...his face looks so real...gave me goosebumps, keep up the good work!

Art at its best.
