Artwork Description

The Sumerian queen of heaven, Inanna is one of the oldest and most important deities of ancient Mesopotamia. Associated with love, fertility, birth, death, and rebirth. she is an earlier version of the Babylonian goddess Ishtar before patriarchal clans influenced her image.

i think this just may be my favorite. besides being partial to Inanna herself, this piece is incredible. real attention to detail. i really like how you incorporated the moon phases. great job. Smile

First I sketch out the image until I have a composition I like, then I transfer it onto the watercolor paper. Then I slowing build up the values and colors. A lot of the painted details spring from my subconsious while painting, so I can never be certain how the final peice will look. Thanks for your comment.

This is beautiful. I didn't notice the little people and faces on the dress at first. You should really make a tutorial. I'd love to see how you make these.
