Artwork Description

You'll remember me when the westwind moves
upon the fields of barley
You can tell the sun in his jealous sky
when we walked in fields of gold

I'm Joaquín (Efenleot) from Argentina. This is the very first pic of you that I laid eyes on, and I still can't get enough of it! Laughing out loud I just love te nostallgy that flows in the atmosphere, that has more to do with the composition, that with colour, I think. If you get my meaning. How can you put so brightly beatifull colours, without diminishing the mellancoly in te pictures concept! Shock

Gorgeous.

Amárie is never even described anywhere. Smile But since she's of the Vanyar, she should be somewhere in the red to gold spectrum, I suppose.

ivoryisis's picture

Actually..
I think Amarie was supposed to have black hair. Oh well.. this is your version, you get artistic license, lol

ivoryisis's picture

Oh really nice. I think this is my favorite of your works so far.
I like how you draw more males instead of females.. I'd rather draw females myself, though. They're more graceful I guess.

beautiful Smile I always think of Eva Cassidy when I hear or read the phrase 'Fields of Gold, but I read the Silmarrilion as well- can't remember much of it though, very long book!

Guest's picture

wow wow wow wow wow wow this is beautiful...i am soo jealous because i have no artistic talent...and i love that song also

great work!!!

goldseven's picture

Could you write me an email to tell me what exactly you'd want it for?

Guest's picture

Beautiful! As stated. *Nods*

I love this picture, and I was wondering if, with proper credit given, a might borrow this picture for an RPG character?

Wow! I forgot to say that int he description, did I? This *is* actually Amarië.

Guest's picture

You know who this reminds me of? Amarië the lover of Finrod who was left behind in Valinor. You can just imagine her walking through the fields alone perhaps where she spent her days with the Noldor prince looking east to the sea in the distance and thinking of her lost love who travelled over. It's very sad I like it alot.

I listened to that song as a young kid- as soon as I saw the title, I thought it fit perfectly. Then I saw the caption. That was awesome! Your art, especially the Silm stuff, is very inspiring.

goldseven's picture

lol--thanks Smile

crap would it take for a humane being to posses such divine talent. I could just scream...I really could. It's not fair that an angel can come down to earth and shun our shallow attempts at art. Go back where you came from and take little miss Linda with you Smile.

I love that song. It always makes me want to cry. Every time I hear it I think of my old rural home. I love the picture. Its simply beautiful. It makes me want to cry right now. She seems to be watching someone she loves leave. Its very... inspiring really. If I coudl draw, I'd probably draw something from this! Its really wonderful. I love looking at your art. Keep up the awesome(and I don't mean "awesome" in its common use) work!

Guest's picture

Great pic...I wish I could draw that good!! Its lovely, I love the detail, the way you put in the cheek bone, and the wrinkles in the dress, it looks so real!

goldseven's picture

Haaaah, the searching game--there are seagulls *and* butterflies! Wink

Guest's picture

and I think they're seagulls, not butterflies. Wink
Lovely gown....I know who she is, too... *sly grin*

Guest's picture

That is SO my character from a D&D game I was in a long time ago....the song "Fields of Gold" always reminded me of Jude Sedai and her lover, Drew...who died before their quest was complete.

julchen's picture

Believe me or not - as I saw this pic first, I digged through the old records of my parents until I found the song.
It's so awesome and fits so well! (shading that field must have been a lot of work...)

maddie's picture

Oh, so that's how you color these amazing drawings! I must try that sometime Wink.
Back to the drawing: I just love her dress, and how the golden belt accentuates how golden the fields are. A beautiful, very serene scene, can wait to see more Laughing out loud

goldseven's picture

That's because I didn't use watercolour to actually colour it. I painted it in greyscale and then put in the colours in Photoshop. I love that way of colouring.

Guest's picture

This is a truly stunning piece. I ordinarily don't use pure unmixed hues in watercolor, but in this piece the colors have a life of their own--it's perfect. Your work just keeps getting more amazing Jenny!

goldseven's picture

The latter Smile And it's *him*, of course...

Guest's picture

It's great! Yes, it did remind me of that song, one which brims tears in my eyes..

But it's lovely..She looks either homesick, or just lonely, as if maybe she's lost a friend and she's remembering him or her..

Art at its best.
