Artwork Description

You'll remember me when the westwind moves
upon the fields of barley
You can tell the sun in his jealous sky
when we walked in fields of gold

No, that's poppy, which grows in every field here between June and July. At times, the fields are more white and crimson with poppy and yarrow than yellow. I just love the way that looks, I had to put them in. Smile

I LOVE THAT SONG! AND I LOVE THIS PICTURE!

I like the details on this picture a lot, especially the foreground. But I wouldn't put in the red flowers though. Seems a bit out of place in a wheat field.

this reminds me of the farmlands that surround my area of the country. too bad we don't have any sea to gaze towards, though. The red flowers stand out really well against the golden grains and the figure's hair has been done very well with a realistic sense of the wind blowing. Hey, I almost missed the butterflies!!

Jenny - this is a stunning piece! I really love the figure and the composition is wonderful! Fabulous!

It's watercolour/photoshop, two media that mix amazingly well. I've always thought pure watercolour lacked the vibrant colours I wanted, and purely digital colouring always looked dead when I used it. This is just a wonderful compromise.

Beautiful. I love the colour scheme! The golden fields really set off the purple of her dress.
